Philippine Presidential Election 2022 Candidates

It’s less than 80 days before the Philippine National Elections. Read on if you haven’t decided whom to vote for from the Philippine Presidential election 2022 candidates. Fortunately, you still have ample time to do your research. Your choice could help the country’s path to recovery from the many societal ills in the next six years.

CNN Philippines’ Presidential Election 2022 Debates for Candidates

The CNN Philippines’ presidential election debates will happen on February 27, 2022 at 5pm-7pm. However, only nine of the ten presidential candidates will attend the event. These are Ernesto Abella, Leody de Guzman, Isko Moreno Domagoso, Norberto Gonzales, Panfilo Lacson, Faisal Mangondato, Jose Montemayor, Jr., Manny Pacquiao, and Leni Robredo. Only Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. will skip the debates.

CNN’s Presidential Debate isn’t the first significant forum Marcos Jr. chose not to join. Previously, he didn’t participate in The Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews. Only the top four aspirants attended based on the latest surveys. These were Domagoso, Lacson, Pacquiao, and Robredo. Similarly, Marcos didn’t join the Panata sa Bayan: The KBP Presidential Candidates Forum.

Other Debates the Candidates Participated or Skipped

The Presidential One-On-One Interviews with Boy Abunda featured Marcos and the other frontrunners: Domagoso, Lacson, Pacquiao, and Robredo. However, Domagoso skipped the DZRH Presidential Job Interview. The interview featured de Guzman, Gonzales, Lacson, Marcos, Pacquiao, and Robredo. Marcos made it to the SMNI Presidential Debate as well. He was joined by Abella, de Guzman, and Gonzales.

Meanwhile, Domagoso and Robredo’s camps cited schedule conflict because they could not join the SMNI Presidential Debate. Also, Pacquiao said he couldn’t be part of any activity organized by a man wanted for detestable crimes. He said that because the owner is Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, one of the FBI’s most wanted. As for Lacson, Quiboloy “has already openly endorsed his preferred presidential and vice-presidential candidates.”

Vote Pilipinas will also launch the Candidate Profile Dashboard on their platform on February 28, 2022, where voters can find verified information on candidates and party-list organizations.
